Fara Jamil and her pharmacist husband Mohammed Khalil Jamil have applied for a license to open a pharmacy at 219 St Andrew's Road. The site was formerly run as a cafe, and is just next to the Honours Three pub.
Fara told G41:
"We're looking for the views and opinions of local people. And if people think it's a good idea we'd like them to say why - that way we can include their views in support of our application."
The couple also took their plans to Pollokshields Community Council on MOnday night, looking to hear the views of the meeting.
There was a lengthy discussion of both the application, and whether it would be appropriate for the community council to take a position - with some arguing that it was purely a business, rather than a community, matter.
Community councillors then agreed, by five votes to four, to send a letter expressing support for the application in the context of the wider regeneration of the area.
The application will be considered by NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde's Pharmacy Practices Committee.
So what do you think? With two existing pharmacies in East Pollokshields - at 198 Albert Drive and 116 Nithsdale Road - would a third on St Andrew's Road be a useful addition to the community?
The applicants are also seeking views on opening hours. They're proposing that their pharmacy would open 9am-8pm Monday to Saturday and 9am-5pm on Sundays.
